a global warming petition
The House votes this week on a bill, HR 969, that would require utilities to have 20 percent renewable energy. It's by far not enough, but it's something, so let's support it!

Hi Katherine!
I'm so glad that you are bringing this topic up in your blog. The energy bill that is under debate right now could make some really big changes in the way government treats environmental policy. I am working with a coalition to help ensure that the standards set forth in the bill remain high enough to make a positive difference for our future. Our petition is aimed at reaching out to representatives and keeping them firm in their commitment to make a real change this year. I know it's another petition but it takes so little time and it has the possibility to do so much. Please check it out at: www.energybill2007.org. Thanks!
Hi Katherine,
Thank you so much for spreading the word about the energy bill. I also wish the standards could be higher, but we have to start somewhere, and this is a really good place. A bill like this seems so logical: it saves money, resources, and the environment, however it is in danger of not being passed in its entirety. Tell your friends and family to sign the petition at http://energybill2007.org so that our message goes straight to the representatives. Thanks again.
